Paris has around thirty escape room companies and more than 130 rooms. They are not equal, and almost none of the English-language lists you will find were written by someone who actually played them.
We run two of the venues on this page and we play at our competitors’ regularly. This ranking compares the ten that matter on the things you can check before booking: district, duration, group size, price per person and Google rating. We say plainly which two are ours.

Batman Escape, 19th arrondissement. The only fixed venue in Paris that takes up to twenty-four players on a single mission, in a 3,000 m² site under official DC Comics licence. Actors stay in the room for the whole 70 minutes, which is what keeps a first-timer from standing in a corner. Flat €36 per person whatever the group size.
Le Bureau des Légendes, 6th arrondissement. The opposite choice: two hours, two to six players, 300 m² of sets built with the designers of the Canal+ series, three actors from start to finish. It is closer to immersive theatre than to a puzzle room, and it is the one that runs an English experience.
If you are organising something for a company rather than for friends, the criteria change completely. The question is no longer which room is cleverest, it is how many people you can put through on a single slot, and whether there is anywhere to debrief afterwards.
A room built for six means a team of twenty splits into four groups on different scenarios. They do not live the same story, and there is nothing to talk about at the end. That is the difference between an activity and a team building.
Batman Escape is the simplest answer on volume: custom formats run up to 300 participants with full privatisation, a 300 m² lounge for the cocktail, and a bar on site. Everything happens in one place, which is rarely the case in Paris — most operators who handle very large groups do it in a venue you have to rent separately.
Le Bureau des Légendes takes up to thirty people on a two-hour custom format. It works remarkably well on leadership teams: two hours of role play and the real dynamics of the group rearrange themselves in front of you.
Two practical points we repeat on every corporate call. Book weekday daytime slots several weeks ahead between September and December, they go faster than Saturday nights. And add thirty minutes to whatever the venue announces — the debriefing is where the team building actually happens, and it is always what gets cut.
This is the question that decides the booking for most visitors, and very few French sites answer it clearly.
Le Bureau des Légendes offers an English experience: it is an option you tick when booking, at no extra cost. Given the format — two hours of immersive theatre with three actors — playing in your own language changes everything.
Gamescape runs sessions in English on request. Ask when you book rather than on the day.
For the other venues on this list, ask before you book. A room that translates its clues is not the same thing as a game master who runs the whole session in English, and the difference matters a lot in a room with a live actor.
Expect €25 to €40 per person for a standard 60-minute room, and up to €90 per person for the long formats with actors. Most venues charge less per person as the group grows; Batman Escape is the exception with a flat €36 whatever the size.
Budget more time than the game itself. A 60-minute room means about an hour and a half on site once briefing and debriefing are counted. If you have booked a restaurant afterwards, leave a margin.
Book at least ten days ahead for a Saturday evening, more in summer and over the Christmas period. The 7 p.m. and 8.30 p.m. slots go first everywhere in Paris.
Weekday afternoons are the quiet window. Some venues, Gamescape in particular, price them noticeably lower.

Most Paris rooms take two to six players. Two exceptions on this list: Kairos takes up to nine on a single room, and Batman Escape up to twenty-four on the same mission.
Kairos is the one genuinely designed for under-12s. Batman Escape opens from age 7 with an adult in the team. Hell Out is horror and is not a children's activity.
The 11th arrondissement has the highest density of rooms in Paris. The 19th has the two largest immersive venues, ten minutes apart along the canal.
